What you see on screen is what comes off the printer.
Before
If the on-screen crop isn't what prints, the mistake is costly.
Now
Photo, size, material and frame, seen to scale on the wall.
An online store for custom wall art: buyers upload their photo, choose size, material and frame, and see the piece live — in 2D and hung to scale on a wall — before paying.
The full case
The problem
Selling a print made from the customer's photo has a catch: if the crop or quality they see when buying isn't what gets printed, the mistake surfaces with the piece already made. And quoting every combination of size, material and frame by hand doesn't scale.
What was built
A configurator where the crop is defined once, with the same code for the preview and the server, and that warns when a photo lacks the quality for the chosen size. Prices come straight from the client's catalog, and the “on your wall” view shows the piece at real scale.
Status
Configurator and wall view built and published as a demo for the client. Next: the managed catalog and online payments.
